Stimulating Research Environment

Formally established in the Year of Chemistry 2003, GSCB is the first faculty-wide Graduate School at Ruhr-University. More than 200 doctoral students, 30% of which from abroad, study and research topics within a broad spectrum of modern-day chemistry - from the design of molecular structures to new materials to the life sciences.

Similar to the cross-faculty International Graduate School of Neuroscience (IGSN), GSCB is a proven Centre of Research Excellence: more than 30 research groups at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry as well as individual departments at four Max-Planck Institutes offer plenty of interdisciplinary research opportunities in a stimulating and state-of-the art research environment.

GSCB is funded by the German Academic Exchance Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation and carries the label "IPP-International Postgraduate Programme".
