Fellowships may be provided within specific postgraduate research programmes, e.g. the EU Marie Curie Early Stage Research Training “INTCHEM” or DFG Research Training Groups, which are hosted by the Gradaute School. Specific calls for these fellowships will be published on the respective project website.

Qualified doctoral students at the GSCB may be offered research assistantships by their research supervisors in return for some teaching or demonstrating duties in undergraduate laboratories. Net salary after taxes, social contributions and health insurance is typically between 500 and 1000 Euros per month.

If a supervisor can be identified at the Faculty of Chemsitry who has no funds available, GSCB may support qualified candidates with their grant or scholarship applications to external funding bodies. Be aware, however, that the evaluation procedure for scolarships (e.g. by the DAAD) may take 6 to 9 months. We therefore strongly advise applicants to submit their documents to the GSCB a year in advance of the desired start.

Of particular interest in this respect are the Research Grants and Study Scholarships offered by the DAAD in Bonn. Country specific details, in particular deadlines and DAAD addresses abroad, can be found in the DAAD scholarship database.

The Catholic Academic Exchange Service (KAAD) offers similar type of scholarships.
