Annual Masters and doctorates Graduation Ceremony 2012

The Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry celebrated its Annual Masters and doctorates Graduation Ceremony 2012 on 14 December 2012 in the Event Centre of the Ruhr-University Bochum.
On the occasion of this event 34 out of 87 possible Master and doctoral degree graduates of 2012 were awarded their degrees.

Traditionally, the best Bachelor and dual-subject Bachelor Degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry were honoured with the Wilke-Prize. The Wilke-Prize is kindly provided by the VFCh (Friends of Chemistry Club) twice a year for the best Bachelor and Master Degrees.
Additionally, the best Master graduates were honoured with the GDCh- and GBM-Prize. These prizes are kindly donated by the Chapter Bochum of the Society of German Chemists and the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the end of the year.
The organisation committee was very pleased about a satisfying number of participants: the 34 graduates attending the ceremony were accompanied by 91 family members and friends who had come to join in the celebration of their big day.
For the first time, a poster presentation took place alongside the ceremony. 51 students proudly presented their research topic in an informative and easy understandable way in order to give their family an insight into their research results.

The organisation committee is looking forward to the next graduation ceremony in December 2013 and would like to encourage and invite all forthcoming graduates to take part in the event.
